Japan is one of the largest consumers of fisheries products in the world today and therefore in many cases the domestic catch cannot satisfy demand.
Today the fisheries resources have evolved into a truly global commodity that involves international supply chains.
Suiken leverages its wealth of information on the fisheries industry to procure safe and secure fisheries products from around the world and, in turn, deliver the most optimal seafood products that satisfy customer needs in an expedited manner.
Suiken maintains close relationships with producers in Japan and overseas and has established a solid network for obtaining information. This has enabled us to become one of Japan’s largest procurers of horse mackerel, Atlantic mackerel and Pacific saury, and other popular fish species in the Japan market.
Our various supply chain routes also enable us to deliver this seafood in a stable manner. We are able to coordinate every aspect of the supply chain, from the catch to processing and distribution.
We have developed a system for dispatching staff quickly to major fishing ports around the world, including those in Norway, the Netherlands, Ireland, Canada, Vietnam, China, Taiwan and South Korea in order to quickly obtain information on the catch and to never miss the optimal season for seafood. In addition, our partner factory located in Dalian in Northeastern China uses cutting edge equipment and a rigorous quality assurance system to manufacture high quality, safe and secure processed fisheries products that are in turn supplied to points around the world.

We have offices at some of Kyushu’s most important fishing ports, including the Port of Nagasaki, which faces the East China Sea, and the Port of Matsuura. We procure fisheries resources directly from these ports thanks to our rigorous and uncompromising inspection system in place on the ground. We have also established a network that includes fishing ports in other parts of Japan to which we dispatch staff directly. This enables us to continually supply the best fisheries products in terms of both quality and price thanks to the discerning eyes of our highly adept professional buyers.
